I got a secret to tell you guys. I had never eaten a cupcake.

That was true, two days ago. I had my first cupcake at D Liche. I had learned about it thanks to @erikadavidMTL (author of the “This is why we are fat” blog). This little cupcake shop has open their doors only three months ago and word is already out saying it would be the best one in town. Knowing that I just had to rush to go there!

I took a Red Velvet as I consider that a classic in the cupcake world. I was blown away by how delicious they looked and the variety of it. They change their flavours according to the season and the ingredients they can get their hands on (+100 points). They engage themselves into not using any bad stuffs that they usually put in bakeries, not sure of the name but you can ask them! The cupcake was just fantastic. I’m not a huge fan of muffins or treats like that but I must say I quite enjoyed that experience. The creamy topping wasn’t too sweet and melted in my mouth. The base flavour mix just wonderfully with the topping. The base and the topping was foaming and airy making the mouthful more light (sugar-wise), it is hard to explain. They also offer a mini-version for less than half the price!

Apart from the food something else shines from this shop : the staff. (This is for you Robert) From the moment I step inside I felt welcome and even though I wasn’t even talking to the staff at first, I was already smiling. They are quite talkative in all the good ways. You can ask them any questions and they will gladly answer them with honesty. They know what they are doing, so if you have any queries about their cupcakes, all you need is ask. I learn quite a thing about cupcakes thanks to them. They also have a lot of projects that sounds just fantastic such as adopting a kid. I would definitely recommend to bring some friends. They will love you from making them discover it. Even if you don’t, you are almost sure to make a friend there.
