Like I promise here is the review on what I think is one, if not the best, burger in town. Situated right next to the Milsa, and Concordia Sir William George Campus (Down Town), I stumbled upon it by chance. I was walking right next to it and decided to take a look. I must say it is quite easy to miss. But if you got the balls to go check inside you will be pleasantly surprised. The place is actually quite nice and original, I wouldn’t consider it a sketch place. Unfortunately, the place is quite small. So if it’s around rush hour for lunch or dinner I would consider order in advance by calling (they offer take-out). But yeah the place is consider of a counter with 8 places and a few tables. The restaurant can take up to 20 people maximum. But god is it worth it.
Before reviewing the food, I need to tell you about the price. Remember when I said that buns was so cheap and M:brgr being a bit expensive, well Gourmet Burger is kind of the best of both world. As it mixes the quality of M:brgr, and the price of Buns. The burger actually cost 5$, the fries 3$ and the drink 3$. The combo is a total of 11$. You can add more ingredients for small fees (1-2$) and those perks can be pretty fancy. They offer truffle, oil, foie gras, brie, goat cheese, etc.
As I mentioned before Gourmet Burger offers a lot of choices. Starting from the patties, you get to choose between Bison, Beef, Chicken. The add-ons are simply shocking they pretty much covers everything. Ok, maybe not everything but there is stuff I’ve never seen before in a burger joint. That is saying something. Pretty sure the previous sentence was pointless. So yeah, I usually take a bacon, foie gras, beef burger and well it satisfy my stomach in such a way, that is totally addicting. The fries are also delicious. They offer sweet potatoes, normal ones or a mix of both, for the same price. They also serve floatters for only 1$ more on your drink. Anyway, the fries just melts in your mouth (the sweet potatoes at least) and the different mayos just goes so well with them (my favourite is the wasabi mayo). I’m speechless for the burger. Nicely spice, big patties, free caramelized onions, just mmmmmm. They also plate it quite nicely.
Gourmet Burger is the burger joint I recommend to all my friends and YOU. Just go, and chances that you see me there are high I usually go twice a week. It’s just such an amazing experience from beginning to end.
Just go already.
